Anita keeps me calm and sane and feeling at home in myself. She's always there with a serious piece of wisdom, a joyful ass laugh and some damn good sardine curry. She's a diplobrat. Of Bangladeshi origins, born in Thailand, influenced by living in Venezuela, Kuwait, Egypt and India during formative years. Picked up languages along the way, and speaks five. In the US since 1990, the spiciest mama we know has been putting her counseling background to good use in a professional career in higher education administration. She's worked in non-profit (International House of Philadelphia) and for profit sectors (Kaplan, Inc.), with the past 10 years at Yale University in student services and international affairs.
In her down time, she crushes interior decorating, interfaith collaborations, being the hostess with the mostest, and volunteering at local organizations. She loves to travel, collect art (if you're traveling, you better bring her back a gorgeous tile for her collection), and has a mild obsession with jewelry. Her partner in life (her husband Fahmeed) and children (Arman and Leila) keep her grounded and thankful. Anita brings brightness to the world.
